ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law: EMC2
The ELSA Moot Court Competition (EMC˛) is a simulated hearing in the World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement system. Competitor teams represent both the Complainant and Respondent parties to the Case by presenting oral submissions in front of a Panel. EMC˛ Panels consist of WTO law experts and are referred to as Panellist. The Competition provides students with the opportunity to put theory into practice, thereby complimenting their formal legal education.
The World Trade Organization (WTO), which was established in 1995, is based on the old GATT Agreement and creates a system for efficiently regulating international trade. Despite the controversies, the present structure looks to promote and enhance international trade for years to come.
The aim of the Competition is both to encourage further development on the subject matter in the curriculum of academic institutions and also to contribute to the ongoing discussion about globalisation in the context of the WTO Agreements.

ELSA International has a special status in the United Nations, Council of Europe and is developing cooperation in numerous international organisations around the world. Cooperation with the international institutions gives a special opportunity for ELSA members to become a part of a delegation of ELSA International and participate the working groups and other similar sessions of International Institutions.

ELSA Selected Papers on European Law (ELSA SPEL) provides a compilation of legal papers in the concerning law with European aspects. ELSA SPEL provides an international readership with a source of literature that rarely finds its way to the regular legal periodicals: High quality papers written by students in the scope of their legal courses as well as academics.
ELSA SPEL contributes to legal education as students throughout Europe are offered an incentive to enhance increasingly important academic and language skills. All contributions are approved by the Editorial Board.
